Electrotherapy is a therapeutic treatment that applies electrical stimulation in treating muscles spasms and pain. It can help prevent atrophy and build strength in patients with injuries. During treatment, electrical stimulation sends an electrical pulses that causes specific muscles to contract. This contraction allows muscles to maintain strength and muscles tone, prevents atrophy from disuse and increases range of motion by mimicking the way the body moves during exercise.
- Manage and reduce pain
- Help with blood flow and improve circulation
- Facilitate the repair of muscle and other body tissues
- Maintain and/or increase range of motion
